Xmas Break for Saturday Morning GG Park Training

The first half of the 2012/2013 is nearing an end. The Christmas Break will begin from 1st December, with the last training session being held 24th November. We hope you have enjoyed the season so far! Details on recommencement will be updated in the New Year. Have a lovely Christmas everyone! We look forward to seeing you back in February 2013.

Free Fun Workshop; Monday, 29th October; Valley Leisure Centre

John O'Kane, our IFA primary school A licence coach, is holding a Free Fun Workshop for all the players of Carnmoney FDC on Monday 29th October. These events are happening all over the country at the minute for individual clubs at Grassroots Development level. This event is funded by the IFA and will see IFA Primary School coaches, some of which play for top Irish League clubs, running fun drills and mentoring both our players and our coaches.

The event will be held at the Valley Leisure Centre at the following times:

9.30 -11.00 2007-2005 age group

11.30 - 1.00 2004-2003 age group

1.30 - 3.00 2002-2001 age group

Please note that this is being held for players of Carnmoney FDC only.

Bury FC Summer Soccer School Information

For everyone attending the Bury FC Summer Soccer School, please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear for the playing surface i.e football boots, and bring a waterproof jacket just incase! Shin guards are compulsory. Please bring a packed lunch along and enough water to last the day. We hope you's are looking forward to it as much as we are!!

Further information on the Newtownabbey Peace Cup has been released. Come along and support our teams, who are up against some prestige competition - the more support the better :). Local press will be there to capture this piece of Youth Football history.

Registration will open on the day at 8.30am and close at 9.30am with games commencing at 10am as per the schedule, which will be displayed for all to see. The kids will all receive a complimentary burger and chips along with water and fruit bags throughout the day. All kids will also get a souvenir and Match Day Programme on the day.

The 2001 age group will attend with a brief workshop to promote anti-sectarianism during the lunch period with RECCOS Consulting. We have the Deputy Mayor of Newtownabbey and The President of the IFA as our guest speakers to give out the awards.

Car parking will be restricted to the main Valley Leisure Centre car park, with the exception of buses, which can access the tournament car park.

Newtownabbey Peace Cup

Having secured funding by the Department of Foreign Affairs (Anglo Irish department) Carnmoney Football Development Centre will host the inaugural (Cross Border) Newtownabbey Peace Cup event taking place on the 4th August this year.

This event is pitched at addressing 3 major social issues for children. They are as follows;

1. Peace. Engendering greater level of respect for the diversity which exists on this island.

2. Mental Health in kids. Informing children and parents/ coaches of some of the issues which children can face, offering solution and best practice advice from professional in this field.

3. Nutrition. Promoting good eating habits from an early age and linking them to sports nutrition

The following age groups are participating at the event:

The scale of this event is tremendous. There will be 10 teams per age group, with 120 children attending from the South and 180 from the North. The pilot teams will include Shelbourne, Home Farm, Drogheda, Bangor Rangers, Larne Youth, St Marys on the hill, Aquinas and Carnmoney FDC’s own teams.

The tournament will be 7 a side and follow a cup and plate style format. There will be souvenirs, medals, trophies, food, entertainment, scouts, guest presentations and more…. The event is based in the north at the Valley Leisure Centre and will last roughly from 10-5pm.

Bury FC Summer Soccer School

NEW FAMILY DISCOUNT - £5 OFF FOR FAMILY OF 2 OR MORE - 2 kids = £75 for 4 day scheme.

Academy coaches from League 1's Bury FC are joining with Carnmoney FDC to hold a Summer Soccer School at Mossley Pavillion. Players from both Carnmoney FDC and the local community are welcome to attend the sessions ran by UEFA qualified Bury FC coaches - an opportunity not to be missed.
